Item description for 90 Minutes in Heaven: A True Story of Death and Life by Don Piper & Cecil Murphey...
Now available in hardcover, 90 Minutes in Heaven is the runaway bestseller about one man’s experience with death and life. As Baptist minister Don Piper drove home from a conference, his car collided with a semi-truck that had crossed into his lane. Piper was pronounced dead at the scene. For the next 90 minutes, he experienced the glories of heaven, where he was greeted by those who had influenced him spiritually, and he experienced true peace. Back on earth, a passing minister who had also been at the conference felt led to pray for the accident victim even though he was told Piper was dead. Miraculously, Piper came back to life, and the pleasure of heaven was replaced by a long and painful recovery. For years Don Piper kept his heavenly experience to himself. Finally, friends and family convinced him to share his remarkable story. An inspiring and encouraging account, 90 Minutes in Heaven continues to touch and comfort millions of people around the world as it offers a glimpse of inexpressible heavenly bliss.

Reviews - What do customers think about 90 Minutes In Heaven?
 | LOVED IT... May 30, 2007 |
| I am currently reading 90 Minutes in Heaven, and I understand some of the reviewers' frustrations with the limited information about heaven in the book. But the truth of the matter is, Mr. Piper very clearly articulates his experience in heaven in those two chapters. I particularly LOVED the chapter about heaven's music. I actually loved how he described heavenly music as perfectly harmonious, even as many songs were heard at the same time. I have always imagined that the praise of many people in many languages, all to our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ, would certainly be loud, but I love the way he describes it. Had Mr. Piper continued to talk about heaven, it would have seemed like an exaggeration. He was not there for eternity. In fact, in light of eternity, 90 minutes really is only a moment. The Bible tells us that a thousand years is a mere moment to Almighty God. Isn't that awesome?? I also understand his need to give God glory for all He has done. The time in heaven, in my opinion, is only a small fraction of God's glory revealed in this man's story. The answered prayers, miraculous healing, and tremendous support of the Body, the Church, is a powerful testimony to God's unending faithfulness. I am currently writing my own story of 7 years of dialysis and God's provision for a kidney transplant. It is part of the healing process to give an account of what God has done. THAT is the message of this book for me. The chapters about heaven are an encouragement, but the testimony of GOd's power is what I love about the book. You know, the Bible itself speaks very little about heaven. It focuses on LIVING for Christ and giving everything we have to Him, because He is WORTHY. I loved the book. | | | | Disappointed May 30, 2007 |
| I purchased this book because the title said "90 Miutes In Heaven" and that led me to believe it was a book about the authors time in heaven. There was only one chapter on his actual time in heaven. The rest of the book was all about his recovery and the miracles it took to get him well again. It was inspiring and there were some truly amazing miracles that happened. Though, over all, I felt mislead by the title and disappointed. | | | | I was disappointed... May 24, 2007 |
| I was so excited to listen to this book! To hear what it's like in Heaven - wow! But Mr. Piper talks of his moments in Heaven for just minutes on the first disk, then the other 4 1/2 disks (rest of the book) is all about his injuries in the accident and how he recovered. I was very disappointed. I expected more on Heaven, not so many details on his health condition each day. So if you want a story about a man that beat death with many prayers, this is it. But if you wanted a story, like me, that tells you every detail of Heaven and how wonderful it is, skip it. Sorry. | | | | Encouragement extrodinaire! May 23, 2007 |
| My young brother is losing his battle with brain cancer and of course the family is devastated but after reading this book I am almost jealous that he will be in Heaven before the rest of us. If you have any doubts that there is a Heaven, you won't after reading this book! | | | | Somewhat Disappointing but Still Inspiring May 22, 2007 |
| This book is 205 pages long. His experience in heaven is described over only 14 pages! The remaining 191 pages is his struggle to recover from his traumatic experience. Although his glimpse of heaven was very brief, I'm grateful that he did not fill the rest of the pages with untrue descriptions just to satisfy the reader. I believe his NDE was real and I applaud him for his mental and physical endurance. I do however think that his story could have been told satisfactorily in a newspaper or magazine article. | | | Write your own review about 90 Minutes In Heaven
