Item description for 90 Minutes in Heaven: A True Story of Death & Life by Don Piper...
Now available in hardcover, 90 Minutes in Heaven is the runaway bestseller about one man's experience with death and life. As Baptist minister Don Piper drove home from a conference, his car collided with a semi-truck that had crossed into his lane. Piper was pronounced dead at the scene. For the next 90 minutes, he experienced the glories of heaven, where he was greeted by those who had influenced him spiritually, and he experienced true peace. Back on earth, a passing minister who had also been at the conference felt led to pray for the accident victim even though he was told Piper was dead. Miraculously, Piper came back to life, and the pleasure of heaven was replaced by a long and painful recovery. For years Don Piper kept his heavenly experience to himself. Finally, friends and family convinced him to share his remarkable story. An inspiring and encouraging account, 90 Minutes in Heaven continues to touch and comfort millions of people around the world as it offers a glimpse of inexpressible heavenly bliss.

Reviews - What do customers think about 90 Minutes in Heaven: A True Story of Death & Life?
 | Inspirational Story Jan 24, 2010 |
| I am not a Christian or religious, but I believe there is an almighty God. I have read introductions about this book long time ago and thought this was probably a religious book because the author is a pastor and the book is about the heaven. The overall 4 star rating by 500+ people prompted me to eventually picked up the book and read it. As many people here, I had expected to read a lot more about heaven than about real life before I started. To my surprise, the main part of the story is about his real life recovery after the accident. And, it is his account of his agonizing and struggling long recovery road, especially how he defeated depression and found will and purpose to live, that consisted of what I liked most about this book. Such an extraordinary and inspirational story! I am convinced the story for most part is true. I agree that he survived because God has a purpose for him to live. However, I disagree with Pastor Piper's suggestion that you have to be a Christian to go to heaven. I believe as long as you are a good person, you will go to heaven no matter what religion(or no religion) you believe in. | | | | Riveting! Jan 22, 2010 |
| 90 Minutes in Heaven will draw you into Don Piper's world... and his heaven. You will feel the searing pain of his injuries, smell the fresh paint in the ambulance, and hear the beautiful music and see the vibrant colors in heaven. You will experience his intense frustration and despair as he is bedridden, mourning the life he once had. As he begins to slowly heal you will appreciate his need to understand God's will - to make sense out of what happened to him and why he was spared. But more than anything, you will see the power of prayer and the miracles that brought Don Piper back from heaven and allowed him to share his amazing 90 minutes with us. | | | | comfort and peace! This book is a wonderful account of an incredible experience. After reading the first portion of this book, I felt as if I could see, hear, touch, smell and taste heaven. I was seeking refuge after I learned of my mother's terminal cancer diagnosis, and this story has helped re-strengthen my relationship with Christ. What a wonderful comfort to be reminded that my mother will be going to a truely better place. My only criticism of this book (and it is a very small one), is that the author, at times, makes the story less about God, and God's greatness, and more centered about his own self-worth. But all in all, a 5 star rating, and the subject manner in this story has changed my life. I am so grateful to the author for coming forward and telling his story and inspiring so many! | | | | Great and Recommended Highly Jan 10, 2010 |
| This is a great book, despite the fact it talked more about his recovery than it did about Heaven. It was still a great book and I would recommend it to anyone, no matter who they are. | | | | GREAT "true" READ Jan 7, 2010 |
| OK this book will totally get to you! It's well worth the read and you may even want to read a few pages over and over! I 150% believe the story! Mr Piper DID DIE, and came back to tell you what he saw, and why he died! It can get a little boring towards the "middle-end" and sometimes he "peats and repeats", but it's OK, I got thru it. I've loaned the book to a few people, and they loved it, too! You will be in AWE of what he went thru! ENJOY!!! | | | Write your own review about 90 Minutes in Heaven: A True Story of Death & Life
